Patient with extensive necrotizing wound.
                                                KOH mount.

Q. What is provisional diagnosis?

Q. Name etiological agents that may cause such clinical condition.

Comments

  1. This is a case of necrotizing fasciitis caused by Mucorales (KOH mount of sample: broad hyaline aseptate hyphae with right angle branching). Phenotypic identification can be made by fungal culture and microscopy (LPCB mount). For definitive species level identification ITS region sequencing is required.
